Saturday morning we travelled with only 13 players and the outcome of the game looked bleak. We had come off of a few hard losses and a number of injuries. However, the Dragons dug deep and rallied. In the first half we stuck to our game of clean rucks and good decision making in contact to keep possession. We were able to capitalize on Norfolk‘s many penalties and gain much needed ground. That isn’t to say Norfolk made it easy! They are a strong side with fast feet. But were able disrupt their offensive game and after a nail biting finish, came out with a win! 29-25! Check out some of the drone footage provided by a gracious Norfolk supporter!
The Division 2 Doylestown Rugby Women’s team played Division 1 Philadelphia Women on Saturday, September 24, 2016, in Fairmount Park. The Lady Dragons started out slowly, allowing Philly Women to capitalize on mistakes. However, Doylestown turned it around with an excellent defensive line and allowed Philly to score only once in the second half. Although the Lady Dragons lost 34-0, it was an excellent learning match in which Doylestown got to play a higher level of rugby, and to see what was done well and what needs some work. Next up for the Lady Dragons is a home match against Brandywine on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at 11:00 a.m.
September 11th. Today we remember all those lost, those that gave their strength to rebuild, and to our country’s citizens for never giving up. Never forgetting. United We Stand.

I left practice last night and layed down in bed too excited to sleep. Walking into the first practice, you never know what you’re gonna get. But when we asked you to show up on time, you showed up. When I asked you to work, you put in work. And when you burned out, I didn’t have to push you, you pushed each other. You showed me what I have to work with this season, a lot of heart. And I’m proud to have each one of you on the pitch with us this year.
We have 9 weeks, a tough schedule, some new faces, and some long drives. Make it count. Keep showing up. When you think about skipping practice, remember, rugby is not a right, it’s a privilege and your presence and energy on this team matters. I don’t care if you’ve played for 20 years or 20 mins (elizabeth 😋).
Fire up dragons, it’s time!
I’ll see you Wednesday at 7PM. – Coach

Want to go to Can Am this summer?
First Practice of 2016 was a sweaty success! Coach Mary lead us through an array of fitness and skill drills in order to shake out the winter rust. She recognized the need to wake up our “rugby minds” and pushed us the full 2 hours. From sprints to touch, we worked to find our rhythm and had fun in the process! Plus, who doesn’t like to play with shiny new balls!?
