Doylestown Rugby Football Club News – November 1st, 2022
In the last match of the Fall season, the Doylestown Rugby Men’s Team battled it out on the home pitch against Old Gaelic on Saturday, October 29, 2022. The match ended with another narrow defeat for the Dragons, 26-32. Try scorers for Doylestown were Mathew Frederick (2), Kevin Hockings, and Michael Acker. Three conversions were successfully taken by Jeremy Ault. The Dragons look forward to
building where they left off for the Spring 2023 season. All are welcome to join the Dragons, regardless of experience level.
The Doylestown Rugby Women’s Team defeated Harrisburg in a home match on Saturday, October 22, 2022. The final score was 36-26. Nikki Fairman and Katie Walston-Frederick led the team with two tries each. Kelly Albanir and Victoria Rasp each had one try. Walston-Frederick added three conversions. The following week, on Saturday, October 29, 2022, Doylestown took on Phoenixville Whitehorse Women in the final match of the Fall season. In a hard-fought match, Doylestown fell 10-41. Kelly Albanir and Kahlee Post scored the tries for the Lady Dragons. The Women’s Team is always looking for players. No experience is necessary.
High School Girls’ Team and Middle School Girls’ Team
The Doylestown Rugby Academy High School Girls’ Team participated in the last tournament of the Fall, in preparation for the RugbyPA State 7s Championship on Sunday, November 6, 2022. In the tournament, held on the home pitch, Doylestown went 1-2 for the day, defeating North Bay, 26-22 and falling twice to West Carroll, 19-25 and 12-22. Nolah Flynn led scoring for the day with four tries and five conversions. Sydney Haddon had three tries. Reaghan King and Siena Accardi added one try each. The Doylestown Rugby Middle School Girls’ Team took on Knightmares Middle School Girls’ Team and won 26-12. Noelle Robinson scored two tries. Kayla Robinson and Siena Accardi tacked on one try each. Conversions were made by Accardi (1) and Kayla Robinson (2).
