Doylestown Men Fall to South Jersey in Rainy League Match

On Saturday, September 23, 2023, the Doylestown Rugby Men’s Team traveled to South Jersey Devils to play an already tough match in unfavorable weather conditions. The first two tries were made by South Jersey, along with two additional conversions. South Jersey was also awarded a penalty field goal, making the score 17-0. However, Brian Stella (outside center) scored a try for Doylestown at the 27-minute mark, and the first half ended 17-5, in favor of South Jersey.

Doylestown opened the second half with a quick try scored by Shannon Pearson (lock), followed by a successful conversion by Jeremy Ault, closing the score deficit to 17-12. Another Doylestown try was scored 10 minutes later by Prince StCyr, to tie the score 17-17. After 20 minutes of back-and-forth play, and with only 10 minutes on the clock, South Jersey capitalized on small errors made by Doylestown to pull away with the final score, 27-17.

The Dragons will work hard this week at practice to fix their errors, as they prepare to face Media at home on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the Maennerchor Field, 3650 Cold Spring Creamery Road, Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Kick-off is 1:00 p.m.
