Doylestown Rugby Football Club News – April 21, 2025

High School Boys’ Team

The Doylestown Rugby Academy High School Boys’ Team traveled to Ireland for their first Spring International Tour in decades. The team left on Saturday, April 12, 2025, and returned on Sunday, April 20, 2025. The team was trained by professional coaches at the Leinster Rugby facility in Dublin on Monday morning, April 14, 2025. They then defeated Malahide RFC U17, 36-7, on Tuesday evening, April 15, 2025.

The touring party then traveled north to Belfast on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, and defeated a very tough Ballyclare RFC U17 side on Wednesday evening, 19-0. On Thursday, April 17, 2025, the Dragons traveled to Ards RFC in the Belfast region and defeated their U17 side, 59-0, that, evening. Doylestown closed out the rugby portion of the trip by attending a professional rugby match between Leinster RFC and Ulster RFC on Saturday evening, April 19, 2025, at Aviva Stadium in Dublin. It was truly a trip of a lifetime for the 22 players, 5 coaches, and 58 total travelers. The touring company, EPL Sports, told the Doylestown travelers that they were by far the best High School touring side they have ever hosted.

DRFC v Malahide RFC

Final Score: 36-7

Try Scorers were: Chris Imperato (1), Timmy Fuhrmeister (1), Hunter Pulford (1), Liam Hoey (1), Alex Stukis (1), and Nick Miletto (1). Jamie Weir kicked 3 conversions. The Man of the Match, as selected by Malahide players, was Marco Burns, hooker, and captain. Malahide had one try and one conversion.

DRFC v Ballyclare RFC

Final Score: 19-0

Try Scorers were: Nick Miletto (2) and Louie Cipollo (1). Jamie Weir kicked 2 conversions. The Man of the Match, as selected by Ballyclare players, was Nick Miletto, outside center.

DRFC v Ards RFC

Final Score: 59-0

Try Scorers were: Alex Stukis (2), Timmy Fuhrmeister (1), Liam Hoey (1), Louie Cipollo (1), Davis Parisi (1), Aaron Kelly (1), Nick Miletto (1), and Marco Burns (1). Conversions were kicked by Jamie Weir (5), Alex Stukis (2), and Marco Burns (2). The Man of the Match, as selected by Ards players, was Marco Burns, hooker, and captain.

Doylestown next hosts Cumberland Valley High School for a league match and Senior Day on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
