Men’s Team

The Doylestown Rugby Men’s Team played in some wet weather on Saturday October 11, 2025, taking on a tough Monmouth team at the Maennerchor Field.

The match was back and forth for most of the time, with neither team able to put the other away. Some sloppy conditions made for handling challenges on both sides.

In the first half, Doylestown built some momentum early. However, Monmouth was able to crawl back in and benefit from a dubious penalty try to go to halftime with a 17-15 lead. Try scorers in the first half for Doylestown were Brian Kelnhofer, Julian Bellman, and Breck Zwanch.

The second half was a continuation of the first. Doylestown had several opportunities that they were unable to capitalize on. Monmouth put up 2 tries and one conversion early in the half and led 29-15 with 10 minutes to play.

The Dragons put together a flurry to end the game, with tries scored by Shawn Williams and Brian Stella. It was not enough to overcome Monmouth’s lead, however, and the final score was 29-25 in favor of Monmouth.

The Man of the Match was awarded to Breck Zwanch, with the Hard Hat awarded to Brian Kelnhofer.

Doylestown will travel to Philadelphia to take on Philly Whitemarsh on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 1:00 p.m.
