Doylestown Rugby Football Club News – July 4th, 2022

DOYLESTOWN RUGBY ACADEMY YOUTH (U13) BOYS’ TEAM WINS DELCO 7s TOURNAMENT

On Saturday, June 18, 2022, the Doylestown Rugby Academy Youth Boys’ Team won the Youth Division of the Delco 7s Tournament. The Dragons defeated Berks Rugby 17-0, Media Rugby 24-0, and Morris (N) Rugby 52-0 in pool play. In the Championship Final, Doylestown defeated Berks 2-12. Both the Youth and Junior Boys’ Teams also competed in the Berks Warrior 7s Tournament on Sunday, June 26, 2022. Both teams went 2-2 for the day.

DOYLESTOWN RUGBY ACADEMY GIRLS’ TEAM WINS BERKS WARRIOR 7’s TOURNAMENT

The Doylestown Rugby Academy Girls’ Team won the Berks Warrior 7s tournament in Reading on Sunday, June 26, 2022. The girls defeated Downingtown 29-10 and 14-12, and Conestoga 29-17. Doylestown also tied Conestoga 12-12. Sydney Haddon was the top try scorer with 4 tries, followed by Maggie Austin with 3 tries. Reaghan King, Nolah Flynn, and Maddie Doyle each tacked on 2 tries a piece, and Siena Accardi added another try. Flynn made 5 conversions and King made 2. The girls will participate in the fundraiser, Beauty and the Pitch, on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Turk Field in Doylestown. The fundraiser supports a youth rugby program based in Mozambique. https://www.adedar.org/beautyandthepitch7s.
