Doylestown Rugby Football Club News – April 10th, 2022
Men’s Team
The Doylestown Rugby Men’s Team brought home the Eastern Pennsylvania Rugby Union (EPRU) Championship by defeating Old Gaelic 32-24 in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania on Saturday, April 9, 2022. Try scorers for the Dragons were Eric French (2), Kevin Hockings (1), and Sekou Harris (1). Jeremy Ault made two penalty kicks and three conversion kicks. On the pathway to Nationals, next up for Doylestown is the Atlantic Super Regional in Buffalo, New York on April 30-May 1, 2022.

High School Boys’ Team
In a home match on Sunday, April 10, 2022, the Doylestown Rugby Academy High School Boys’ Team fell to Conestoga. The final score was 39-28. Try scorers for the Dragons were Cade Aivazian (2) and Reagan McCullough (2). Matt Cleland kicked four conversions. The next match will be against Berks at home on Sunday, April 24, 2022. Cleland and Jack Wierzbowski will be traveling to Tampa, Florida to play for Atlantis in the Tropical 7s International Tournament on April 15-16, 2022.
High School Girls’ Team
The Doylestown Academy Girls High School Team traveled to Lancaster, Pennsylvania to take on Knightmares Rugby, and came out victorious with a 36-17 win. Reaghan King and Maggie Austin led the scoring with two tries each. Maddie Doyle and Nolah Flynn each added one try. Flynn also kicked three conversions. Flynn, Doyle, King, and Austin, along with Liz Johnston and Sydney Haddon, will be traveling to Tampa, Florida to play for Atlantis in the Tropical 7s International Tournament on April 15-16, 2022.
Junior (U15) Boys’ Team
The Doylestown Rugby Academy Junior Boys’ Team defeated St. Joe’s Prep (Gray) on Sunday, April 10, 2022. The final score in the away match was 78-7. Try scorers for the Dragons were Joey Craig (5), Aaron Kelly (2), Marco Burns (3), Jack Druger, Jameson King, Santiago Bustelo, and Timmy Fuhrmeister. Conversions were kicked by Timmy Furhmeister (2), Bailey O’Malley, and Santiago Bustelo. The next match will be at home on Sunday, April 24, 2022, against St. Joe’s Prep (Crimson).
Youth Boys’ Team
The Doylestown Rugby Academy Youth Boys’ Team defeated Berks on Sunday, April 10, 2022. The final score in the away match was 38-0. Try scorers for the Dragons were Louie Cipollo (2), Sonny Wade, Mason Darrows, Gavin Graham, and Brandon Zubyk. Jamie Weir kicked four conversions. . The next match will be at home on Sunday, April 24, 2022, against Blackthorn.
