Doylestown Rugby Football Club News – April 8, 2024

Men’s Team

On Saturday, April 6, 2024, a windy yet nice spring afternoon, the Doylestown Rugby Football Club Men’s Team took the home pitch against Montclair RFC in a friendly battle. Doylestown’s line-up had a mix of veteran players, with some newer lads sprinkled in, all of whom were ready
when the ref blew the whistle.

The pitch, slightly muddy, was not a problem for most of the match. On the other hand, the wind was not forgiving. After some back and forth, Montclair was the first to score. With the conversion, they led 7-0 against the home team. Both teams tried their best to outplay each other. The half ended with a few good runs from the Dragons, but no points; 0-7 Montclair.

During the halftime break, some conversations were had and some player adjustments were made. All-in-all, “follow the game plan and let’s put points on the board,” were the words from head coach, Jeremy Ault.

Now for the second half. The wind was still doing its thing, but at this point, Doylestown was used to it. The Dragons marched down the pitch and 8-Man, Mr. Eric French, ran up the score.
