Doylestown Rugby Football Club News – April 7, 2025

High School Boys’ Team

The Doylestown Rugby Academy High School Boys’ Team traveled to Berks Rugby Club for their fourth RugbyPA league match of the season on Sunday, April 6, 2025. Once again, Doylestown was able to dominate from the start, by executing the fundamentals at a very high level. The match was essentially over at halftime, as Doylestown led 38-0. Doylestown pushed the lead to 57-0 in the second half before Berks crossed over with two tries. Doylestown closed out with a dominating 57-14 victory.

Try scorers for Doylestown were: Nick Miletto (2), Louie Cipollo (2), Bailey O’Malley (1), Timmy Fuhrmeister (1), Jamie Weir (1), Liam Hoey (1), and Gavin Graham (1). Conversions were kicked by Jamie Weir (4) and Jackson Reilly (2). Berks had 2 tries and 2 conversions.

The Man of the Match was Bailey O’Mally, who manned the center of the field from his inside center position. The senior scored the Dragons’ opening try on a knifing run and continued to effectively run, tackle, ruck, and counter-ruck all match long.

Doylestown next travels to Ireland for an 8-day rugby tour to Dublin and Belfast on April 12-20, 2025. Doylestown will play 3 matches, attend a professional rugby match, and receive training from professional Irish rugby coaches. It should be a fantastic experience for the young men!

U14 Boys’ Team

The Doylestown Rugby Academy U14 Boys’ Team played at home in their second league match of the 2025 season on Sunday, April 6, 2025, against Whitehorse Youth Rugby from Phoenixville, PA. Doylestown was in control of the match from the initial kick-off, scoring early with a try from the dynamic running of Jonah Khanan.

From that point on, Doylestown controlled the match with sweeping movements and successful ball control offense. Doylestown was able to get many players match time and experience throughout the match. The final score was Doylestown Youth Rugby 64 – Whitehorse Youth Rugby 5.

Try scorers for Doylestown were: Jonah Khanan (3), Michael Farias (2), Maika Heimbach (1), Jackson Backus (1), Brady McReynolds (1), Shane McCuen (1), and Crew McFerson (1). Conversions were kicked by Conor Cassidy (4), Lucas Wyatt (1), and Jameson Meehan (1). Whitehorse Youth one unconverted try.

The Doylestown Rugby Academy U14 Boys’ Team will play their third RugbyPA league match on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. against Chambersburg Youth Rugby at the Maennerchor Rugby Field in Doylestown, PA. Be sure to catch some great youth rugby action this Sunday and cheer on the boys!
