Doylestown Rugby Football Club News – March 30, 2026
Men’s Team
The Dragons traveled the long commute to Horsham to challenge their historic rival, Blackthorn, on March 28th, 2026. This match consisted of 3 periods in which Blackthorn put up a nice fight. In the end, the Dragons rose to a 38-19 victory. The boys came out firing, especially in the first half, with some really sharp, cohesive rugby on display. Leading the charge on the scoreboard was Kevin Reilly III (outside center) with 2 trys, Captain Matt Frederick (inside center) with 1 try, Brian Kelnhofer (flanker) with 1 try, Osger Joseph (wing) with 1 try, and Breck Zwanch (fly half) with 1 try. Breck also had a big day off the tee, knocking through 4 conversions.
Man of the Match honors go to our prop, Prince St Cyr, for a dominant performance up front, while the Hard Hat goes to Breck Zwanch for his all-around impact on the game.
Next week, the Dragons have a bye in their Spring schedule, but they pick up again on April 11th when they host division rival Media RFC. Kickoff is slated for 1PM. Come out and support your local rugby club!

Women’s Team
Doylestown’s Women Dragons traveled down to Philadelphia to battle against the Northeast Philadelphia Irish Women on March 28th, 2026, for their last regular season match of the 202-2026 season. After a tough fought match, the Dragons fell to the Irish, 21-47.
High School Boys’ Team
The Doylestown Rugby Academy High School Boys’ Team traveled to Gregory the Great Academy (GGA) on Sunday, March 29, 2026, for a RugbyPA league match. GGA is Doylestown’s #1 rival in Pennsylvania, and they are the #5 ranked school team in the entire country. GGA caught the opening kickoff and broke many tackles and raced close to the goal line. GGA then executed multiple phase plays and crashed over for a 7-0 lead only 2 minutes into the match. Doylestown settled in, possessed the ball, and began to find the try line, taking a 17-7 lead. The teams then traded tries and Doylestown led at the half, 24-14. Doylestown played well in the second half by minimizing unforced errors and stretched their lead to 43-14. GGA was able to score the last try of the match to give Doylestown the extremely tough 43-21 victory.
Try scorers for Doylestown were Liam Hoey (2), Hunter Pulford (1), Louie Cipollo (1), Alex Sukis (1), and Aaron Kelly (1). Jamie Weir kicked one penalty kick and five conversions. GGA had three tries and three conversions. The Man of the Match was Liam Hoey (Inside Center). Doylestown will have a bye week for Easter, then hosts St. Joseph’s Prep on Sunday, April 12, 2026, in RugbyPA league play.

U16 Boys’ Team
The Doylestown Rugby Academy U16 Boys’ Team traveled to Phoenixville to play Whitehorse-Coventry on Sunday, March 29, 2026, for their second RugbyPA league match. The Dragons focused on executing the fundamentals, making the correct decisions, and simply having each player do his job. Doylestown was able to score early and often and reached 35-0 in the first half. The full match was played and everyone received ample playing time. Try scorers for Doylestown were Jake Beckenhauer (1), Brady McReynolds (1), Jonah Khanan (1), Mario Palena (1), and Reed Charlesworth (1). Jake Beckenhauer kicked five conversions. The Man of the Man was Jonah Khanan (Outside Center) for his dynamic running and his defensive efforts. Doylestown will have a bye week for the Easter holiday and then will play St. Joseph’s Prep U16s at home on Sunday, April 12, 2026.
U14 Boys’ Team
On Sunday, March 29, 2026, the Doylestown Rugby Academy U14 Boys’ Team delivered a dominant performance on the road, securing a comprehensive 54-10 “total team victory” against White Horse RFC. The Doylestown offense set the tone early, utilizing multiple phases of attack and slick offloads in contact to break through the defense. By halftime, they had firmly established control with a 27-5 lead. The second half was a continuation of this excellence, as the squad maintained a punishing defensive line that allowed only one additional try. The scoring effort was led by Joey Brigidi with four tries and Quinn Fragner with three, while Killian Meehan, Ryan Yuan, Trace Keen, and Lucas Wyatt (three conversions) each contributed to the final tally. The next match is against Delaware County on April 12, 2026, at home.
U12 Boys’ Team
On Sunday, March 29, 2026, the Doylestown Rugby Academy U12 Boys’ Team put on a dominant display of rugby during their trip to White Horse RFC. Demonstrating true sportsmanship, Doylestown provided extra players to the hosts to ensure a full 12-a-side match, showcasing the depth and spirit of the club. From the opening whistle, Doylestown’s offense was firing on all cylinders, utilizing multiple phases of attack and keeping the ball alive with clinical offloads in contact. Their physical presence was felt through powerful runs that consistently secured possession and led to a flurry of scoring.
The try-scoring effort was led by Ryan Maher, who crossed the line four times, followed by a brace from Landon Markowitz. Additional tries were contributed by Josh Beckenhauer, Gavin Shellenberg, Will Hartig, and Tristan Schwab. In a unique twist, Doylestown players also bolstered the White Horse tally, with Jakoa Beckenhauer scoring twice for the opposition. By balancing a high-octane offense with a gritty, disciplined defense, the Doylestown U12s secured a convincing 50-30 victory in a well-rounded team performance. The next match is at home on April 12, 2026, against Delaware County.
