U14 Boys’ Team

In a high-stakes clash between two league titans, the Doylestown Rugby Academy U14 Boys’ Team delivered a masterclass in physical rugby on Sunday, April 26, 2026, handing the previously undefeated, first-place Downingtown their first loss of the season. Doylestown’s victory was built on a week of rigorous preparation focused on “winning the small battles.” The Dragons dominated the contact area, consistently crossing the gain line on offense and stifling the opposition with a loud, unified defensive line.

This relentless pressure forced Downingtown onto their heels, allowing Doylestown to dictate a high-paced, expansive game fueled by superb ball handling. The Dragons set the tone early, opening the scoring with a powerful forward maul led by Max Mallon. The momentum continued as Joey Brigidi found space at pace, racing across the line for a try converted by Trace Keen, giving Doylestown a comfortable 12-0 lead at the half.

The second half was more of the same, with the Dragons dominating possession and territory. Trace Keen and Joey Brigidi each added another try to their tallies, while Trace remained clinical off the tee with two additional conversions. Although Downingtown managed to find the try zone once, the Dragons’ defense remained largely impenetrable. The final score was Doylestown 26 – Downingtown 5. The 26-5 victory secures a crucial bonus point for Doylestown as they climb the playoff standings. The Dragons look to carry this momentum into the highly anticipated regular-season finale on Sunday, May 3, 2026, when they host Mont-Bucks.

U12 Boys’ Team

The Doylestown Rugby Academy U12 Boys’ Team displayed incredible heart and fire on Sunday, April 26, 2026, in a hard-fought home match against Downingtown. From the opening whistle, the Dragons played with immense passion, stringing together multiple offensive phases and threatening the try line repeatedly. While their enthusiasm on both sides of the ball was evident, the Dragons struggled to convert their territory into points, ultimately falling just short of the line on several promising drives.

Despite Doylestown’s spirited performance, a disciplined Downingtown side was able to capitalize on mistakes from the youthful Dragons. Playing with a slight edge in speed and clinical execution, the visitors secured a 35-15 victory. However, the scoreline doesn’t tell the whole story of the grit shown by the Doylestown side. Wyatt Dexter scored 3 trys for the Dragons. The U12s will head back to the training pitch this week to refine their skills and cohesion as they prepare to host Mont-Bucks on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
